There are three different gas analysers available at the EVT for the online detection of gases. Two of them are equipped with modules to determine typical gases in SNG, such as H2, O2, CO2 and CH4.

Flue gas from the gasification of biogas with relevant trace substances can be analysed. These gases contain CO2, CO, NOx, SO2.

Our chair is equipped with two Agilent µGC 490. Permanent gases are analysed with a MolSieve5A column whilst CO2, H2S and hydrocarbons are measured with a PoraPlotQ/U column. The CP Sil column detects hydrocarbons and molecules containing sulphur.

The STA Linseis PT 1750 facilitates the experimental investigation of mass changes and reaction enthalpies under different gas atmospheres. It is well suited for the analysis of pyrolysis characteristics and quantification of carbonaceous deposits on catalysts. Furthermore, the DSC allows for the analysis of ash properties and gives the possibility to gain insight to the behavior of bed material in the carbonate-looping process.
