From June 28 to July 3, 2026, the 39th International Conference on Efficiency, Cost, Optimization, Simulation, and Environmental Impact of Energy Systems (ECOS) took place in Constanta, Romania.
This year’s conference focused in particular on the simulation and optimization of energy systems, as well as innovative solutions for an energy- and material-efficient energy supply. Topics included energy storage, carbon capture, and life-cycle and thermoeconomic analyses.
Hannah Cortnum represented our chair with a presentation on the production of green CO₂ from the oxy-steam combustion of biomass, in which she presented the latest research findings from the OxyGreenCO₂ project.
