6 kWh pilot-carbonate-storage

The 6 kWh pilot-carbonate-storage in the laboratory of the Chair of Energy Process Engineering

 

Highlights:

  • Lab-scale plant for parameter variation with cyclic calcination and carbonisation (up to 20 kg CaCO3) in one reactor
  • DN 150 fluidized bed reactor with central high temperature heatpipe for heating and unloading of the storage
  • Controll rod controllable heatpipe steam generator with up to 2.5 kW steam output/3.5 kW carbonisation performance
  • Elektrical heating with 9.7 kW and up to 950 °C via heatpipe and reactor wall
  • Plant operation with variable partial pressure of CO2 with mixing of nitrogen, air or steam at atmospheric pressure
  • Gas inlet from the bottom with up to 50 lN/min CO2, N2 and air each and 2 kg/h steam
